The Resource Group of Companies Has Begun Export Deliveries with the Use of Rail Transport

24.03.2020
On March 23, the Resource group of Companies, in partnership with Russian Railways, TransContainer PJSC and RUSCON LLC, sent the first batch of 20 refrigerated containers (540 tons) by rail from Nevinnomyssk to the port of Novorossiysk. The further route involves the delivery of frozen poultry meat produced by the Resource Group by sea to the Gulf countries and China.
This shipment of frozen poultry for export by railway became first experience both for the port of Novorossiysk and for the Resource Group of Companies. Currently, the Group uses motor vehicles for container shipments in a similar direction: container trucks and refrigerated vans.
In connection with the peculiarities of cargo turnover, the formation of an export batch of frozen poultry for delivery to the port by road takes from 3 to 4 days. In turn, the acquisition of containers for rail transportation occurs more evenly and quickly, on average, in 2 days. In addition, when using refrigerated vans, it is important to have an intermediate warehouse for loading finished products into containers, which entails additional costs.
Among other advantages of railway transport in comparison with automobile transport: the absence of weight restrictions and the ability to deliver containers directly to the port without waiting for permission to enter.
The relevance of rail transport use is due to the constant increase in export supplies. The new service will allow the Resource Group to reduce the cost of delivery, as well as send larger batches of products. In the future, by the end of the year, it is planned to increase the shipment to 40-45 containers (1215 tons) at a time.
The Resource Group of Companies plans to use the same service in the future to organize export deliveries of sunflower oil of its own production. Last year, bottled oil was shipped to the markets of the CIS countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), as well as to Afghanistan and Georgia, the total volume was 10 thousand tons. This year, the Resource Group will increase exports by introducing new assortment positions and expanding the geography of supplies, including the sale of bulk crude and refined sunflower oil to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
